Survey ? Diagnostic of Participation of the University Community in Networks and National and International Associations of an Academic, Scientific and Professional order.
The internationalization activities began at the institution in 1996 starting with the signing of a Letter of Intention with the Universidad de las Tunas, posteriorly with the establishment of some sporadic agreements with the Centro Universitario de la Tunas (2002 ? Cuba), with the Universidad de Matanzas ?Camilo Cienfuegos? (2001 ? Cuba); and with the Universidad de Camaguey (2001 ? Cuba).
Through Agreement No. 015 of May 12th of 2003, the Academic Council approved the Program for the Internationalization of the Universidad Colegio Mayor de Cundinamarca. Its objective was oriented towards making more dynamic the teaching processes, research, social projection in light of the internationalization criteria for higher education.
For the fulfillment of this objective the following objectives have been established aimed at:
? Promoting links and academic mobility with national and international institutions through agreements and joint projects.
? Promote close cooperation with and support of other educational systems.
? Incorporate intercultural and global dimensions within the institution?s mission.
? Develop an inter-institutional culture at the university community that values international perspectives and incorporates the institutional mission.
? Consolidate an academic community with international recognition.
These policies have been expressed in two projects that put forward efforts that can be annually evaluated with the aim of determining the fulfillment levels reached. Such projects are aimed at promoting academic mobility; international and national cooperation and the participation of academic networks.
The Project for Academic Mobility and Cooperation, is aimed at providing spaces for national and international exchange in academics, research and social interaction that are directed at teachers, students, researchers and administrators of our institution. These joint relationships are established through the signing of agreements and letters of intention.
The Academic Networks Project, looks to generate an institutional culture of interrelation and permanent communication between the university and other institutions through communication and working closer with our international colleagues.
In this sense, the participation and joint support of the academic community are indispensable for the strengthening of our commitments with hopes of converting them into planning strategies that benefit joint commitment and growth.
In order to fulfill these tasks a series of activities and goals are established that are measured each semester and projected with the required adjustments.
Starting in 2003 a process was begun to continually sign agreements that take into consideration the institution?s future, its quality, international projection and affinity with the programs of our institution.
In 2008 the revision and update of the original proposal took place and it established a new document that was approved through Agreement 033 of May 12th of 2009. In that document only two projects were established: academic mobility and cooperation and participation in national and international academic networks.
For 2009 the Universidad Colegio Mayor de Cundinamarca had 29 documents in this area like international conventions and letters of intention with countries like Germany, Argentina, Chile, Cuba, Mexico, Canada, Spain, Peru, Puerto Rico and Ecuador.
